About Me

I have done stints working in TV, magazines, newspapers, PR and even worked one season as an elf at Santa’s grotto. I was a journalist with The Independent newspaper for six years, first as the paper’s social media editor, then a features writer, then I went to the Evening Standard as the deputy editor of Going Out and came back to The Independent as the music editor and arts writer before being made redundant when the paper closed down in 2016. Since then, alongside my journalism, for the i and The Stage as well as other titles, I’ve run a national war poetry competition where the winners were read out by Prince William and worked as an edit producer on the Discovery Science channel’s most successful show. I’ve written an award-nominated play – Doing Well – which has yet to go on stage! but I’m working on it. I have always been interested in the power of the arts to change lives for the better and I am the editor of visionaryarts.org.uk, a not-for-profit organisation rewarding arts with a social impact. I regularly appear on the arts and culture pages of the beautiful Marylebone Journal. I also write for the national press about arts and culture, particularly theatre.

I am currently ghostwriting a novel and planning a TED Talk.
